Belarusians Of New York Present 'Voices Of Freedom' To 100th Anniversary Of BPR

The diaspora in the US supported fellow countrymen in celebrating the anniversary of independence.

The video project "Voices of Freedom" timed to the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Belarusian People's Republic was prepared by the Belarusians of New York along with their American friends, according to Charter97.org.

The aim of the project is to present to the audience the poems of modern Belarusian poets in the original and translated into English. All poetic works are thematically connected by a rethinking of the theme of freedom in its various manifestations. Reading poems is accompanied by musical fragments of the group DZIVIA from Belarus.

"According to the initiators of the project, the achievements of the Belarusian literature still remain little-known not only in the far abroad, but also among compatriots. Therefore, the popularization of poetry in the native language through the use of media does not lose relevance and is especially important for those who want to remember their roots and maintain a close connection with the national culture, " - the organizers of the project believe.
