The coordinator of the European Belarus is going to make inquiries about the reasons for his release.

In the evening of March 25, there was an event that could be called "Miracle on Freedom Day." Within a couple of hours the authorities released all opposition members detained the day before. Some, like Uladzimir Niakliayeu, spent four days in isolation. Some, like Mikalai Statkevich, spent only ten hours behind the bars, the European Radio for Belarus reports.

The reasons for detention of the politicians are obvious: this way the authorities prevented them from taking part in the procession on Freedom Day. On March 20 this action was banned, and the next day the detentions of its potential participants began. The coordinator of the civil campaign European Belarus Maksim Viniarski was among the first to get behind the bars on March 21. The next day the court punished him with ten days of arrest for taking part in a street action held a week ago. But on the evening of March 25, after the celebration of Freedom Day was over, Viniarski was released along with other detained oppositionists.

"Nobody explained anything. I realized that I was released only when I saw Viachaslau Siuchyk behind the door of the pre-trial detention center. Before that, walking on the stairs and signing for my personal belongings, I thought that I would be transferred to another building or to an isolator in Zhodzina, – Maksim Viniarski says.

– If I knew that I was being released, I would require a certificate of administrative detention. There is a point "reason of release." Usually it contains a notion about the termination of the term of arrest. This time, naturally, there should have been written something else.

But, frankly speaking, I think that there are no legal grounds for my release. Just as they detained me in violation of constitutional rights, as they tried me, so they released me – in the same unlawful manner, according to some unknown order, a click of fingers."

Together with other oppositionists detained on the eve of Freedom Day and released after the festive concert, Maksim Viniarski is going to make inquiries about the reasons for his release and his legal status.
