17 Pickets Of Solidarity With REP Trade Union Are To Be Held In 14 Cities And Towns

The pickets will be held on Constitution Day.

REP trade union activists from fourteen cities of Belarus have applied for seventeen pickets, demanding to stop the criminal case, mass interrogations and interference in the internal affairs of the union, praca-by.info informs.

In accordance with Article 35 of the Constitution of Belarus, Article 21 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, Articles 4-6 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Mass Events in Belarus", REP trade union activists submitted 17 applications for holding pickets in 14 cities and towns on March 15: 3 – in Minsk, 2 – in Brest, and also in Homel, Mahiliou, Vorsha, Hrodna, Kobryn, Mikashevichy, Mozyr, Kalinkavichy and other district centers.

The purpose of the picketing is to stop the interference in the internal affairs of the Belarusian Trade Union of Radio Electronic Workers (REP), to stop unreasonable calling of trade union members to investigators as witnesses, to stop the criminal prosecution of union leaders Henadz Fiadynich and Ihar Komlik.
