Belarus Is the Largest Potato Buyer in Ukraine

During the year, potato exports to Belarus grew 2.6 times.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine boasted of potato exports to Belarus, kp.ua writes.

Last year Belarus became the largest importer of Ukrainian potatoes, having bought 10.5 thousand tons for 2.6 million dollars.

Moldova takes the second position with 4 thousand tons, then follows Azerbaijan with 2.5 thousand tons. In general, within a year Ukraine increased the export of potatoes by 3.5 times.

In January the fiscal service reported that potatoes were actively transported from Germany. It was reported that during the year potato exports to Belarus grew 2.6 times. Deliveries to Belarus amounted to 75.4% of all exports. The import of potatoes, on the contrary, decreased.

Ukraine is the fourth largest potato producer in the world, falling behind China, India and Russia, Komsomolskaya Pravda in Ukraine writes referring to an unnamed rating. Belarus takes the tenth position in production and the first in consumption. Ukraine takes the third position among potato lovers.
