Belarusians Picket During Lukashenka's Speech

Activists demand that attention be paid to the officials' run-around replies.

April 24, representatives of the civil initiative Against Lawlessness in Courts and Prosecutor's Office tried to get to the Government House, where the "Lukashenka's message to the people and the parliament" was planned to be delivered.

– But as usual guys in civil clothes met us at near the building and didn't let us to pass, – Tamara Siarhei, the lawyer of Salidarnasts, said.

Earlier, another representative of the initiative filed an application with the Minsk City Executive Committee, asking permission to hold a picket against officials' runarounds at the Svabody Square on April 24. However, the response of the authorities was negative. After that, the activists decided to try to meet with Aliaksandr Lukashenka.

– However, as you can see, no one wants to listen to us. Therefore, we have no choice but to hold an unauthorized picket on Svabody Square, which we are now starting, – Tamara Siarhei said.
