US Embassy In Minsk: We Remind Belarus’ Authorities Of Full And Transparent Investigation Of Yury Zakharanka’s Case

The US Embassy in Belarus expressed condolences in connection with the death of the former Interior Minister’s mother.
"The Embassy expresses its sincere condolences to Mrs. Zakharanka’s relatives, friends and associates. We would also like to remind the "Belarusian" authorities of their obligations to investigate Yury Zakharanka’s case fully and transparently," – the US Embassy in Belarus said in Twitter.

The mother of the abducted ex-Minister of Internal Affairs, Ulyana Zakharanka died at the age of 95 yesterday.
For the last 19 years, Ulyana Zakharanka was seeking an investigation into the case of her son's disappearance, including in international structures. For example, in her latest address to the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances, the disappeared politician’s mother asked the international body to take urgent action in connection with the current situation of non-investigation of criminal crimes against humanity related to violent and involuntary disappearances of Yury Zakharanka, Viktar Hanchar, Anatol Krasouski and Dzmitry Zavadski.
