Leanid Kulakou: If We Fight, Freedom Will Come Much Faster

The right to protest is given by the Constitution.

Activists of the European Belarus civil campaign have been fined for solidarity with political prisoners, the press service of the Belarusian National Congress informs.

The decision was taken by the Pershamaiski district court of Minsk on May 21. Leanid Kulakou and Maya Naumava were fined 40 basic units.

– Needless to say, the court decision will not affect my actions. I will continue to go to street rallies and demand the release of political prisoners, – Leanid Kulakou said after the end of the trial. – The Constitution gives me this right. I am sure that if we make a stand for political prisoners, show solidarity with them, then freedom will come much faster for all of us.
