Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania and Poland should unite and stand in opposition to Russia.

Former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine in Belarus Roman Bessmertny wrote that on Facebook:

"Belarus is a state to which I will never be indifferent ...

I am convinced: for so long as Belarus is under the direct influence of Russia, and Ukraine wander in its external positions, Europe will never feel safe. This place will remain vulnerable for the European security.

History made a big mistake when it allowed four countries – Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania and Poland – to move to the European community with different pace. Do you remember from history the Treaty of Hadiach of 1658? Then the Russian Principality, the Principality of Lithuania and the Polish Crown united. Until we do not realize the depth of the error of moving away from the principles of the Treaty of Hadiach, we will wander in search of ourselves in this turbulent world.

I believe that modern Ukraine, Belarus, Lithuania and Poland should unite to oppose Russia's aggression. This may be the new format of the Treaty of Hadiach. For example, I would suggest creating a Union of Three Seas. Or the Union of the Inter-Mediterranean. This idea is sought-after because of the geopolitical situation and it is necessary to work on it.

The fact is that the lack of political unity in these four countries is a delayed-action mine. Believe me, it will periodically fire destroying the European security.

As history shows, the states of this region always achieved success only when they took a common stand. I am convinced that in the end we will achieve it again. Therefore, I urge representatives of the Belarusian democratic society not to drop their hands."
