Anatol Hlaz was appointed head of the department of information and digital diplomacy (spokesperson) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus on June 11. He replaced Dzmitry Mironchyk who had been appointed Ambassador of Belarus to Sweden, BelTA reports with a reference to the press-center of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Anatol Hlaz has been on diplomatic service for more than 13 years, worked in the department for Eastern Europe at the Directorate-General for Europe; held the post of second and first secretary at Belarus' embassy in Italy in 2007-2009. In 2009-2014, Anatol Hlaz worked in the Lukashenka Administration as the deputy head of the foreign policy department; as senior adviser at Belarus' Embassy in Italy in charge of bilateral political cooperation, media liaison, development of the legal framework and other issues. This year, after returning from Rome, Anatol Hlaz continued to work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs holding the post of senior advisor with the department for international security and arms control at the Directorate General for Multilateral Diplomacy.
