Lukashenka: Russians Feed Us More Than We Feed Them

The dictator has thanked Putin for their foodstuffs.

The Russian export of agricultural products to Belarus in per capita terms exceeds the Belarusian export of agricultural products to Russia. Such a "fact" Lukashenka voiced at a meeting of the highest state council of the "union state", BelTA informs.

"Here is an interesting fact, which may have fallen under the radar. Russia supplies more agricultural products to Belarus per capita than Belarus supplies to Russia. We are accustomed to hearing that Belarus exports a lot. But in per capita terms Russia supplies more to Belarus than Belarus does to Russia. I am not going to specify the figures. Look them up. But the ratio is much larger. Russians feed us more food than we feed Russians," – the Belarusian ruler said.

Lukashenka stressed that interregional ties remain the key to "success" of the Belarusian-Russian integration. "80 subjects of Russia have trade and economic relations with Belarus. Three hundred cooperation agreements have been concluded at the regional and municipal level. Since 2014, joint forums of the regions of Belarus and Russia have been held. And another forum will be held in Mahiliou in October this year," – the dictator said.

Lukashenka called up Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit this forum.
