The slogan "For our and your freedom" is still relevant.

It has become known that the remains of Kastus Kalinouski, who was the leader of the uprising in Lithuania and Belarus in 1863, could be identified in Vilnius.

A possible burial of Kastus Kalinouski, the head of the uprising of 1863 in Lithuania and Belarus, was found in Vilnius on the mountain of Gediminas as early as in summer of 2017.

What significance does this have for the Belarusian people and why do the authorities not take part in the discussion of these events? Сharter97.org asked Razam solidarity movement leader Viachaslau Siuchyk about it:

– I would like to draw attention to the fact that this is a fateful event for the entire Belarusian people. It is very important for our nation to have a grave of a national hero.

For a long time, the invaders tried to turn the population of our country into slaves, who do not have history and their heroes.

I am very glad that at last the sun will shine on our side of the fence, and there will be a holy place for Belarusians in Vilnius.

Against the background of these events, the silence of the Belarusian authorities looks very eloquent.

They have decided to show us their genesis once again.

Kastus Kalinouski is a hero of the Belarusian people. And today's power has a completely different genesis. They come from Lubyanka and Moscow.

It would be surprising if they consider the Belarusian heroes for their own ones.

Stalin, Beria and the NKVD are their heroes.

Therefore, we need to rely on our strength. From myself I can add that the Razam solidarity movement is conducting a number of events in Belarus and Lithuania, dedicated to the 155th anniversary of the Kastus Kalinouski’s uprising.

Another value of this uprising is that the peoples of the Inland Sea took part in it, and the slogan "For Our and Your Freedom" continues to be relevant up to now. Although people in power in Belarus are far from freedom and struggle for it.
