Belarusians must be ready to defend sovereignty, if the dictator wants to surrender the country to the Russian Federation.

One of the leaders of the organizing committee for the creation of the Belarusian Christian Democracy party Pavel Seviarynets said that in an interview to Charter97.org, commenting on Lukashenka's statement that "it will be necessary to become a part of some state":

– Such words should not exist at all in the vocabulary of a real head of state. Such words are only for temporary workers, for usurpers, for sole rulers, who have become the head of the country by chance.

I think these words were a Freudian slip. Apparently, Lukashenka has a fall-back option of surrendering Belarus and fleeing to Russia. I guess that's exactly what he meant. But there is God and there are Belarusian people – and I think this scenario will not work out.

– Lukashenka did not mention the name of the country in his monologue. Is it Russia for sure?

– It’s Russia. Lukashenka has Soviet mentality, he is a Moscow-centered person. Even his "flirtation" with the West is nothing more than a method of blackmailing the Kremlin.

– How serious is this statement? Can there be something more serious than just a Freudian slip?

– Perhaps, it is a certain signal that something is happening behind the scenes. But in any case, this is also a signal for us: if Lukashenka and his team start to surrender Belarus, people must stand up to defend the sovereignty.
