Cowboys And Paratroopers: Military Maneuvers Of Russia, Belarus And Serbia Begin

The active phase of the joint Russian-Belarusian-Serbian military drills "Slavic brotherhood-2018" began at the Rayevski training ground in the Krasnodar Territory.

As Radio Svaboda informs referring to the information department of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, paratroopers of the three countries are drilling "the actions of multinational battalions when performing peacekeeping and counter-terrorism missions."

According to the department, an official ceremony with the raising of the flags of three states will take place on June 26. It will be attended by the Deputy Commander of the Airborne Forces of Russia, Lieutenant General Alexander Vyaznikov, the Commander Of Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus, Major General Vadzim Dzianisenka, the Army Deputy Commander of Serbia, Major General Zelimir Glisovic.

In the international drills, Russia is represented by more than 700 people from the reinforced battalion of the Kuban Cossack landing and assault regiment of the Airborne Forces. From the Belarusian side, 250 servicemen of special operations forces take part in the drills; Serbia sent fifty servicemen from the brigade of the special forces. It is planned that Air Force and Air Defense Units of the Southern Military District, as well as Il-76MD aircraft will also take part in the drills.
