Boycott For ‘Parasitic’ Commissions!

The authorities want to track down every Belarusian citizen.

The so-called parasitic commissions are now being formed in Belarus. They are intended to become the executive body for the implementation of the Decree #1. The “commissions“ have broad functions, their decisions are not subject to appeal, and this pretty much unites the “Lukashenka commissions” with the “Stalin’s troykas”.

Independent observers are not allowed into the secret agency. Why the secrecy?

European Belarus actrivist Andrei Sharenda commented on the situation around the decree on „parasites“ and „parasitic commissions” specially for the Charter97.org website:

- The idea is that the government wants to monopolize the right to collect data about Belarusians. Information will be collected only by the people who have proved themselves loyal at “elections” - teachers, policemen, officials.

It is clear that the information will be more extensive than that voiced by the state. The main purpose is to track down every Belarusian citizen. The authorities create separate repressive institution that will deal with it.

I want to advise Belarusians not to give any information to the Commission.

Use methods of an active boycott. Not simply refuse to give your data, but tell your friends and family how dangerous these commissions are. It is necessary to conduct information campaigns against the decree on „parasites“.

The second method of struggle - you can start collecting data about the members of the ‘’parasitic commissions themselves, so that members of the commissions knew that not only they are endowed with the privilege to collect information. As soon as the risk that the collected data will be used against ordinary people - to voice the names and positions of those who sit in these commissions.

If this does not stop Yarmoshyna - the people always have a right to rebel.
