Independent Journalist From Biaroza Summoned To Police

The senior district police officer came to the apartment of the freelance journalist Tamara Shchapiotkina at 9:15 PM yesterday.

Major Siarhei Vouk handed a summons to Shchapiotkina, saying that she was summoned as a witness to the deputy head of the law enforcement department Mikalai Prakurat at 3 pm on July 16.

– Senior district Major Siarhei Vouk answered to my question: in relation to what case they call me as a witness, that he did not know and that he was simply given a summons and told to hand it to me. The last time Shchapiotkina was brought to administrative responsibility in November 2017. She was fined 50 basic units for work for Radio Racyja without accreditation.
