Famous Journalist Yury Taparashau Passed Away

He was called one of the "bisons" of Belarusian journalism.

Yury Taparashau, a well-known journalist, lawyer, and media trainer, died at the age of 83.

He worked as the department head in Viacherni Minsk, deputy editor-in-chief of the Themis newspaper, a writer in the Vozhyk magazine and the Legal Newspaper. Yury Taparashau hosted the programs of "People's Control" and "Law and Order," which, according to him, were much more open and less censored than the broadcasts on today's television, baj.by reports.

He also actively cooperated with the magazine of the Belarusian Association of Journalists "Abazhur."

"Together with Yury, we visited with trainings on modern journalism almost all the important independent regional periodicals," – Aliaksandr Koktysh writes.

From an interview to the Babruisk Courier:

"If we go back to the time when I worked on TV, then, despite the fact that we had a curator from the Central Committee in 38, Karl Marx street, who explained to us how and what to do, we still made a quality product."

He admitted that he adored jazz, and used to say that it extends his life...

He was called one of the "bisons" of Belarusian journalism.

Yury Taparashau will be buried at the Paunochnaye Cemetery.

Everlasting memory.
