Archbishop Tadevush Kandrusevich Takes Part In European Bishops' Forum

The head of the Catholic Church in Belarus represented the Belarusian episcopate at the plenary session of the European Bishops' Council.

The head of the Catholic Church in Belarus, Archbishop Tadevush Kandrusevich, represented the Belarusian episcopate at the plenary session of the Europe's Bishops' Conferences, which started in Poznan, Poland, on September 13.

In Poznan, this year marks the 1050th anniversary of the founding in this city Poland’s oldest Catholic eparchy. In 2017, the forum was held in the Belarusian capital.

In the beginning of work, a greeting letter from Pope Francis was read, catholic.by reports.

On September 14, the participants of the Catholic Forum focused on the issue of volunteering in the Catholic Church in Europe. On September 15, the bishops discussed the solidarity between the Church and the peoples in Europe. On this day, the participants of the meeting addressed the President of Poland Andrzej Duda.

Marc Ouellet, the Cardinal from Canada and the prefect of the Vatican Congregation for Bishops, called for solidarity with Pope Francis in the difficult times in which the Universal Church and the world live, to respond even more effectively to the challenges of the times.
