Memory Of Hanchar, Krasouski, Zakharanka And Zavadski Honored In Netherlands

Ten years ago, four oaks in memory of the disappeared Belarusians were planted in Eindhoven.

A ceremony to honor the memory of abducted Belarusians was held at the Four Trees living memorial in Eindhoven, Radio Svaboda reports.

The four oak trees were planted in memory of abducted Viktar Hanchar, Anatol Krasouski, Yury Zakharanka and Dzmitry Zavadski ten years ago.

As the website of the We Remember civil initiative informs, the event was opened by Lera Krasouskaya, Anatol Krasouski’s daughter. Amnesty International representative Christy Medema, Ton Kitten from the Federation of Dutch Trade Unions, Eindhoven city authorities’ representative Marie-Anne Skrevrs made speeches at the ceremony.

Poetess Jessica Bartels read poems dedicated to the disappeared Belarusians.
