Uladzimir Shila: Fighting Is Hard, But We Shouldn't Give Up
ULADZIMIR SHILA

Lukashenka does not allow normal political processes in the country.

Uladzimir Shila, a public activist from Salihors, announced this to the BNC press service:

– I am disappointed that there is no single candidate, but I am ready to work for Mikalai Statkevich, since I respect this person very much. If we assess the abilities of the opposition critically, we can say that it has little strength. We must take into account the existing conditions. We can call them less than unfavorable, even hostile. Look outside – even the grass does not grow there, because it is winter. The same can be said about Belarus. Lukashenka does not allow normal political processes appear in the country. He knows that the sun will rise, it will warm the earth and everything around will bloom and turn green.

In fact, it is surprising that, despite all this, there are people who oppose the dictator, who do not let hope to die. I cannot tell you how to win. The regime is not omnipotent, its possibilities are not limitless, it is forced to make concessions. For example, two years ago, in Salihorsk, they “pressed” old women, who were illegally selling goods on the streets. They had to run and hide from the police. Today, these grannies have flooded onto the streets of the entire city, and the authorities cannot do anything about it, because they cannot provide a decent pension, they cannot provide normal medical care.

It is hard to fight, but we shouldn't give up. The time will come, and people will proudly remember this. This is a demonstration of human dignity, – Uladzimir Shila said.
