The situation in the regions is different from what is happening in Minsk.
Homel representative of the Belarusian National Congress, Ales Yauseyanka, has told the BNC press service:
– The situation in the regions is different from what is happening in Minsk. This applies not only to wide sections of the society, but also to the opposition. In fact, all healthy regional structures work in the BNC, because the central offices of the parties have long forgotten about them. They no longer need the structures in other cities except Minsk. Activists in the district centers are persecuted; they cannot find work, and party leaders drive foreign cars, without working anywhere. They do not need changes, because most of them do not even have a trade. What will they do when the power changes?
It is different in the BNC, after all, no one “feathers his own nest” there. Everyone understands the role of the regions, we have no such separation. Therefore, common party activists will support us.
Nevertheless, we have to do a lot of work, solve organizational issues, think over the material support of the campaign, look for funds for leaflets, for holding campaigns. Our strength is that we work not for the sake of the process, as others, but for the result.
