Anarchist Movement Activist Detained In Minsk

A criminal case has been filed against him.

Policemen have detained an activist of the anarchist movement in Minsk, who had previously been accused of an administrative offense. This time, a criminal case was initiated against the young man, Belsat reports.

Back in June, the police detained two activists of the anarchist movement. One of them was Andrei Chepik. Both guys were detained and kept in the temporary detention center for several days before trial. Then the activists were accused under Article 17:11 of the Administrative Code - "Distribution, production, storage and transportation of information products containing appeals to extremist activities or promoting such activities".

However, after the consideration of the case file, the court considered that the guilt of the men had not been proven, and sent the protocols for revision. The case was subsequently dismissed. But on September 29, one of the activists was detained near his house and taken to the police department. The policemen brought a criminal case against the young man under Article 341 of the Criminal Code (desecration of buildings and damage to property). He is charged with making a graffiti.

The punishment under this article includes public works, a fine, or arrest for up to three months.
