Alena Tserashkova: We Can Unite And Pull The Country Out Of Trouble Together

Here is the program of the European Belarus parliamentary candidate.

The state newspaper Zviazda published the program of the European Belarus parliamentary candidate Alena Tserashkova, the website narodny.org. reports.

1. Return power to the people.

According to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, the only source of power is the people. This means that it is the people - through their elected representatives, as well as directly, through a referendum, and the bodies of local self-government - defines the foreign and domestic policies, the economic policy of the state, region, city or district. Officials are only a part of the mechanism, they are nominated, elected or recalled by the people, officials are responsible before the law and before voters. It is necessary to establish the real work of democratic mechanisms, to abolish the artificial barriers imposed by the electoral law contrary to the Constitution, logic and common sense.

2. Stop the construction of the NPP.

33 years ago Chernobyl exploded. The then authorities concealed the truth about the disaster and its consequences. They are doing the same thing today. There is no public control, no dialogue between the authorities and the society. They will hide the next catastrophe till the end, saving themselves first and foremost, not us. It is necessary to conduct transparent, independent, competent expertise, we will see the results and make a decision together.

3. A decent standard of living.

Belarusians deserve wealthy life. The road to this is no social handouts, but economic growth. Release the country of manual control, as the laws of the market, as well as the laws of nature, cannot be abolished by some decree. Provide an opportunity to make professional decisions to competent specialists instead of the power vertical representatives, let it go from the officials to the people. Employment contracts and agreements should be a means of protecting workers, rather than an instrument of pressure. Trade unions must be no office for the purchase of chocolates and vases, but an effective instrument of human rights defense.

4. The revival of national culture and education.

Return of the Belarusian-language education. Organization of Belarusian classes in schools, Belarusian kindergarten groups at the level of the state offer. This will prevent the situation when parents want to educate a child in Belarusian near their place of living, but they can not exercise their right through administrative obstacles, as well as the situation when a class is created for one child, which really puts additional burden on the school, and in the conditions of finance distribution according to the number of students puts the school in a losing position. The situation will become normal when parents will be able to make the choice to educate the child in Russian or Belarusian within the framework of one institution by simply ticking a box, and their choice will cease to be a sign of loyalty to the state.

The support to the national education shows that the state is interested in the development of national culture. The improvement of the language competence will facilitate the growth of the demand for the national cultural product, its quality and competitiveness.

5. Availability of health care.

Availability does not mean free of charge, and vice versa. Many are willing to pay for the quality of the medicine itself, but we must not forget that each of us pays taxes. Therefore, we stop talking about free medicine: it does not exist. Personnel policy in health care is the care of the state. Fictitious re-training and advanced training courses, setting obstacles to those who propose new methods, the collapse of scientific schools, low standards of education, related to the fact that the “paid” students are not profitable to dismiss, even if they do not seek to learn a profession at the appropriate level. Medicine loses the only potential it has, and availability of medical aid is a formality, not supported with efficiency. Without a change in the government policy, everything will get worse.

You may think, who will allow such changes to happen! Read the first paragraph. We - the people, it’s up to us to decide. If a car is bogged down in the pit, you can endlessly sit there whining. But you can get together - and pull it out. So we will win!

Alena Tserashkova is a mother of four children, a surgeon, a member of the BPF Party. She works in the 11th hospital in Minsk. She writes books and poems for children. Alena has been teaching the Belarusian language to young children at MovaNanova language courses for six years.
