Mikalai Statkevich: European Belarus Made People Big Present

There will be a Christmas tree in Minsk one and a half months before the holiday.

On November 15, there was a Meeting of Free People at Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk.

The meeting was announced by the coordinator of the European Belarus civil campaign, Yauhen Afnahel, at a meeting of subscribers of popular blogger NEXTA, held in Minsk on November 8. The meeting of free people was supported by many Belarusian bloggers, public activists, trade union and youth leaders.

BNC leader Mikalai Statkevich commented on the sudden setting up of the Christmas tree in the square:

- European Belarus has made a great gift to the Belarusians. There will be a Christmas tree in Minsk 1.5 months before the holiday. Thank you very much, - Mikalai Statkevich says ironically.
