Expert On Eastern Europe: Huge Number Of "Miracles" Recorded At "Elections" In Belarus

Compared to previous elections, there is an obvious setback.

The "parliamentary elections" in Belarus held on November 17 did not meet democratic standards, - such an assessment has been made by observers from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

Polish expert on Eastern Europe Marek Budzisz noted in an interview with Polskie Radio:

"A huge number of violations and "miracles" with ballot boxes (i.e. ballot box stuffing - Ed.) have been recorded. All this will lead to the situation when these "elections" will not be recognized as democratic and it will be a correct assessment. Compared to the elections of four years ago, there is an obvious setback.
