Conscript Corporal Committed Suicide In Mazyr Border Guard Detachment

A conscript killed himself in the Mazyr Border Guard detachment.

The Investigation Committee of Belarus is investigating the incident. This is reported by the press service of the State Border Committee.

The body of a conscript with signs of suicide was found on November 20 at 2 a.m. The deceased corporal was 20 years old.

- He was called up to the border guard in November 2018. He served in the Mazyr Border Guard Detachment. He received favorable reports. He was rewarded by the unit's command, including with a testimonial for his reasonable initiative and diligence in the performance of his duties, decisive actions in locating and detaining the violator of the border, as well as for his high performance in the third quarter of 2019. From personal conversations it was established that after the compulsory military service he was planning to stay in service under the contract, - the SBC informed.

In November, he returned to the detachment from vacation, which he spent at home.
