Mikhnyuk: Labor Code Of Belarus Is Most Disgraceful Worldwide

The low standard of living this year was the most pressing issue for workers.

One of the leaders of the Independent Trade Union of Radioelectronic Industry Workers Zinaida Mikhnyuk told Radio Racyja about this.

She has noted that so far there has been only a deterioration in labor rights:

- At the end of the year, we adopted a platform on which we will continue to work - this is aimed at improving the socio-economic status of citizens. The disgrace that happened this spring when the “House of Representatives”, instead of liquidating Decree #29, introduced it into the Labor Code in the 21st century. Today, the Labor Code of Belarus is the most disgraceful in the whole space.

According to Zinaida Mikhnyuk, almost every year the number of people who join independent trade unions remains approximately the same. People are simply afraid of losing their jobs, and join only after resignation.
