The employees of the Belarusian education system are obliged to perform a huge number of functions that are not typical for their colleagues.

Yesterday’s tragedy in Stoubtsy shocked Belarus. The motives and reasons forcing an ordinary 10th-former to dare for a murder have remained unknown. The Investigatory Committee has remained silent so far, “Basta!” reports.

Just over two years ago, something like that almost happened at the Minsk University MITSO. One of the first-year students came to classes with a chainsaw, but could not start it and after a couple of days, on October 8, 2016, he attacked people in the mall “Europe”.

Belarus has not come across such crimes committed by minors before.

Most schools and all universities in Belarus have a psychologist in the staff. Their tasks are to study the personal peculiarities of teachers and students, their social status, interpersonal relations; to make detailed psychological personality characteristics; to prepare the compilation of psychological profiles that will allow holding corrective psychotherapeutic activities, moral and volitional education of students, the formation of their particular personality traits; influencing over social status of certain individuals, and the organization of adequate interpersonal relations in groups and collectives.

The work of the school psychologist is very responsible, it requires appropriate preparation and time. But the employees of the Belarusian education system are obliged to perform a huge number of functions that are not typical for their colleagues from other countries. Falsification of elections, ideological treatment, forcing students into the “lukomol”, and, more recently, the search for “parasites”.

The working day is not elastic. Because of the “social burden”, teachers do not have time to fulfill their direct duties. Maybe the reason for the atypical for our country, aggressive behavior of schoolchildren and students should be sought in this? After all, yesterday's tragedy in Stoubtsy is only the top of the iceberg. There are more than enough examples of unmotivated cruelty of minors - from vandalism in the streets to killing animals.
