How come?

Lukashenko does not express condolences to the families and friends of the dead Belarusians. The official website president.gov.by publishes either condolences to the leaders of other countries, or words of sympathy to the families and friends of another untimely deceased celebrity, Euroradio informs.

There are condolences over the explosion of the residential building in Magnitogorsk.

There are condolences to the relatives of those killed in the fire of the Zimnyaya Vishnya shopping center in Kemerovo.

There are condolences to the President of Brazil because of the dam breakthrough, to the President of the Philippines because of the explosions in the Catholic church, to the President of Poland because of the murder of the mayor of Gdansk. And many other condolences.

What about Belarus? Only obituaries. Lukashenka brings condolenses with regard to the deaths of national artistes Ihar Luchanok, Liudmila Yafimava, Henadz Harbuk, Eduard Zarytski, Mikalai Kirychenka, state figure Mikalai Dzemiantsey, weightlifter Aliaksandr Kurlovich and many others. But there are no condolences about the terrible murders and catastrophes that occur in our peaceful country.

On the official website of Lukashenka, there is not a word of sympathy for the relatives of those killed and injured during yesterday’s attack at the school in Stoubtsy. Only the Ministry of Education expressed condolences. Meanwhile, Lukashenka lashed out against the officials, deciding who should be blamed for this: “The Chairman of the district executive committee should fully respond for the incident. And with the Minister of Education. Why didn’t they set up a proper order at schools?”

There are no condolences to the victims of the “chainsaw massacre” arranged by Uladzislau Kazakevich, nor to the relatives of children who died after vaccinations, nor to the relatives of the Vitsebsk footballer Andrei Shcharbakou, who died in a car accident, or to the mothers of girls killed in Babruisk this summer. Nor to many others whose tragedies shocked us.

There are no condolences on the website of Aliaksandr Lukashenka in connection with the terrorist attack at the Kastrychnitskaya metro station, one of the bloodiest tragedies in the history of independent Belarus. Words of support to Belarusians were then expressed by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. And Lukashenka soon announced that the organizers of the attack had been found. And that was all.
