Official Information: Beltamozhservis Officials Detained

Attorney General confirmed that the officials were detained.

Several officials of RUP Beltamozhservis were detained, check is in progress. Attorney General Aliaksandr Kaniuk announced this today, answering journalists' questions, BelTA correspondent reports.

The Prosecutor General confirmed that the detention took place. “Yes, there were problems. We detained several people. We must thoroughly check everything,” – he said, noting that the detained people were officials. “There is such an issue with Beltamozhservis. It takes time to sort things out in detail,” – Aliaksandr Kaniuk added.

The Attorney General did not disclose the details, explaining that he prefers not to give comments on cases that are pending. “There are all kinds of situations, and these are people. We are responsible to them even for the information we give,” – he said.

We remind, that rumors about the arrest of the Beltamozhservis leadership appeared already on February 19.

As the website Charter97.org reported, on February 21, Russia declared that it had revealed the largest scheme for the supply of sanctioned goods through Belarus. Beltamozhservice appears in the case.
