Lukashenka Raised Excise Duties For Automotive Fuel

Petrol can significantly rise in price in Belarus.

By the decree No. 102 of March 15, Lukashenka approved new excise duties for petroleum products through the end of the 2019 year, tut.by reports.

We remind that initially, for the current year, it was supposed to reduce the rates of excise duties for petrol and diesel fuel by 25% compared with the level of excise duties, which were in force from July 1 to December 31, 2018. The Ministry of Finance explained it by partial compensation to the refineries for increased in oil prices in the context of the “tax maneuver’s” implementation in Russia (the decrease in budget revenues amounted to 170.7 million rubles).

Now, the excise duty for petrol that does not correspond to class 5 will be set at 475.08 rubles per ton (previously it used to be 435.08, in 2018 – 580.11 rubles), and 292.59 rubles per 1 ton (252.59 and 336.79 rubles, respectively) of the class 5 petrol, 227.05 per 1 ton (187.05 and 249.4 rubles) of diesel fuel that does not correspond to class 5, 178.33 per 1 ton (138.33 and 184.44 rubles) of diesel fuel of class 5.

At the same time, the excise duty for liquefied petroleum gas was doubled up to 108.42 rubles per 1000 cubic meters.
