Zmitser Dashkevich Found In Detention Center

The activist was detained at the celebration of Freedom Day in Minsk.

Zmitser Dashkevich is in a temporary detention center. It has been reported by his wife, Nastassia Dashkevich, Belsat reports.

“He was found in the detention center,” – Nastassia Dashkevich informed.

Dashkevich's relatives and colleagues believe that he will be tried tomorrow.

“We think that Zmitser Dashkevich will be taken to the Tsentralny district court,” – Pavel Seviarynets said.

Zmitser Dashkevich was detained right in front of his wife’s eyes after the performance in the Kiev square, where a concert on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Belarusian People's Republic was held on Sunday. Nastassia Dashkevich does not know why the activist was detained, but she stated in a conversation with Belsat that the authorities probably did not like the speech he made from the stage.

In his speech, Dashkevich called the policemen “shuniaukas,” and Lukashenka – an “impostor.”

After the activist was detained, his friends and relatives could not find him: the police claimed they did not know where Dashkevich was.
