Vorsha has celebrated the anniversary of the proclamation of the Belarusian People’s Republic.
The Belarusian People's Republic was proclaimed on March 25, 1918, but due to the fact that the date itself falls on Monday this year, most celebrations take place in the country and abroad on Saturday and Sunday, orsha.eu reports.
Vorsha activists of democratic organizations also made the main celebration on Sunday. First, 101 white and red balloons were released into the air over the Settlement, and, since there was a good wind, they immediately flew to the south side. Some balls were with inscriptions, “BPR 101,” and flags attached to them.
After such a symbolic event, the activists gathered in one of the public offices, where an improvised concert took place – the participants read poems and sang Belarusian songs.
It is expected that the celebration will continue on Monday.
