The leader of the Belarusian National Congress has spent 15 days in the temporary detention facility for calling for a prayer service in defense of Kurapaty.
Leader of the Belarusian National Congress Mikalai Statkevich has been released from the temporary detention facility on April 22. The opposition politician has served 15 days in custody for calling to hold a prayer service in defense of the memorial to the victims of Stalinist repressions in Kurapaty, where they began demolition of crosses under the order of the authorities. Mikalai Statkevich’s wife Maryna Adamovich, and his BNC allies met him at the prison doors upon release.
