Henadz Fiadynich: Some Think Cloud Will Pass By Itself, Sun Will Appear

The authorities need to be reminded of the problems, only this way you can achieve something.

One of the leaders of the REP Trade Union Henadz Fiadynich has told Radio Racyja that independent trade unions will not come out with the action on May 1:

- We planned to come out on May 1, but when we considered this issue at the council of the Belarusian Confederation of Democratic Trade Unions, we decided not to organize any events on that day. And I do not understand this approach. Independent trade unions have been seriously reeling up lately, and we are not able to say this out loud? Not able to take people out? Some, apparently, think that the cloud will pass by itself, and the sun will appear. It won’t. It is necessary to remind the authorities about the problems, only this way you can achieve something.

- Maybe there is no money to pay for the police services on the protection of order during the action?

- Maybe, but first of all we need to talk about the readiness to hold a rally. I think that the Belarusian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions was a little afraid that many people leave independent trade unions, but in this case, on the contrary, you need to take some measures to increase activity. But now something strange is happening.
