The border guard, who committed suicide, left a note.

Border guard, contractor Mikalai Hudzima hanged himself at night on May 12. He served as a driver in the Smarhon border group, Radio Svaboda reports.

Warrant Officer Mikalai Hudzima was 33 years old. He left a wife, two children, parents.

As the cousin of the deceased, Yury, says, on May 11, Mikalai was at the birthday party of his goddaughter in Smarhon. After the holiday, they went to spend the night in the parents' house in Soly, Smarhon district. In the morning, the father found the body of the man in the economic extension.

The relative does not know the reasons and whether they are connected with the service somehow.

It is known that before his death, Hudzima left a note.

“I love my wife, children. This is some kind of evil eye. Olia [the wife of the deceased – Note], sell the apartment and leave this city. Mom, Dad, thanks for everything,” – Yury, from memory, retells the last words of the deceased.

Yury says that Mikalai’s father also said that dolls inducing witchcraft had been planted into his house.

According to the brother, it is a good, wealthy family, Mikalai did not abuse alcohol. They recently bought an apartment in Smarhon. The wife also serves in the Smarhon border group.

The funeral will be held on May 14 in the village of Soly, Smarhon district.

The official representative of the State Border Committee, Anton Bychkouski, confirms that the body of serviceman Mikalai Hudzima was found at the place of the parents’ residence on May 12 at 6.30 am. “Ensign Mikalai Hudzima is positively characterized at the service. According to preliminary information, this is a suicide, not related to the ensign’s official activities. An investigative team is working to find out the causes and circumstances of the tragedy. We cannot give other details yet,” – Anton Bychkouski said.

In 2017, a young border guard officer shot himself in Smarhon.
