I send and receive correspondence at the local post office every day.
I have known the girls working here since long ago, they often help me “out of queue”, especially when there are many people receiving pensions or paying utility bills.
Today, I found out that one of them resigned. They used to complain about low wages before, in private conversations, like, we work but we don’t earn enough even to buy food. I started asking and it turned out that the young lady named Yana left for Poland to work there. “She has already invited us to join her, she earns thrice more that here, and in euros, not in rubles,” the girls are happy for their friend.
It seems that they will no longer keep young Belarusians here with the work for food...
