A small batch of clean oil for the Mozyr Oil Refinery has been allocated ahead of schedule.

The situation with the supply of contaminated oil to the Druzhba pipeline is expected to be normalized in the first half of May by cleaning the lines one by one in each of the main export destinations, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said during a government meeting, interfax.by reports.

“As for the normalization of the situation, we expect it in the first half of May, the work continues. The normalization means clearing the lines one by one in each of the main export destinations,” – he said.

“At the current moment, on May 4, ahead of the two-day plan, standard oil arrived at the Mozyr Oil Refinery (Belarus), on May 6, we started pumping of standard oil to the Brody metering unit to deliver it to European consumers. In the near future, we expect an agreement on pumping standard oil towards Poland. The pumping of standard oil to the port of Ust-Luga also continues, and we expect it to arrive to the port in the morning of May 8,” – the Russian minister reported.

Commenting on the measures that have been taken to normalize the situation in the early stages, Novak said: “We efficiently isolated the source of pollution from the trunk pipeline system, reorienting the flows in order to clean one of the Druzhba pipeline lines at the earliest. I also wanted to thank the companies – Russian Railways, Sovcomflot – for responding promptly to eliminate the consequences.”

Transneft (MOEX: TRNF) transferred all tests of oil regarding the content of organochlorine compounds from the category of periodic – once every 10 days – into the category of delivery and acceptance, that is, it is a daily monitoring regime,” – he added.

“We held two rounds of negotiations with partners from the Republic of Belarus, Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary. An action plan on eliminating the consequences was agreed upon,” – the Russian minister said.
