Authorities Seize Car Belonging To European Belarus Activist Leanid Kulakou

The officer of court imposed a ban on “committing registration actions” with the property of the activist.

A private car is being seized from the activist of European Belarus civil campaign Leanid Kulakou, the press-center of the BNC reports.

The decision is based on the fact that Leanid Kulakou did not pay fines for taking part in protest actions held in Minsk on February 23 and April 7.

The activist of the European Belarus received by mail a resolution of the Compulsory Enforcement Department of the Pershamaiski district of Minsk, signed by officer of court Stsepanyuk A.A.

- In fact, this means that they can take the car, any moment, it has been recorded. In every political process regarding me, I warn the judge that I have no opportunity to pay fines, pleading to arrest me. However, they still impose huge fines. At one of the recent trials, the judge mockingly declared that I had not done anything illegal in order to send me to prison. Why did they jail me for participation in other actions then? - Leonid Kulakov is surprised.

The activist stressed that he offered the officer of court to pay the fine in parts, but he was denied this request.
