Maryia Tarasenka: Decree on "parasites" – problem of all Belarusians

Maryia Tarasenka: Decree on "parasites" – problem of all Belarusians
Maryia Tarasenka

Gas and heating will soon become 5.5 times more expensive for the people whom the authorities have classified as "parasites".

June 10, Judicial Collegium for Civil Cases of the Homel Regional Court rejected the appeal of Maria Tarasenka, a resident of the regional center, against the decision of the district court to deny her compensation for moral damage from the "parasite" commission, as Homelskaya Viasna reports.

Three people in the gowns of judges decided that the so-called "commissions to promote employment" add people to special databases of "not employed in the economy" on the basis of the decree on "parasites", which means that they cannot cause moral harm to a citizen.

At the beginning of the year, Maryia Tarasenka sued the state for being registered as a "parasite." On 18 March, Zheleznodorozhny District Court dismissed her lawsuit against the "commission to promote employment" and the Regional Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the regional executive committee.

This was the first "parasit's" process of the housewife against the state this year. The apartment is registered to Maryia, so since January the tariff for hot water for the family has increased by 5.5 times.

"We will go all the way to the end and bring the case to the Supreme Court to show that this is not only my problem, but the problem of all Belarusians. Starting from October 1, gas and heating will become 5.5 times more expensive for people classified by the authorities as unemployed," – Tarasenka said.
