Mikalai Piashko has no right to work for religious reasons.

On June 14, the so-called Parasitic Commission of the Administration of the Chyhunachny district of Homel invited resident of the regional center Mikalai Piashko to the meeting, where they freed him from payment of the increased utility bill for water heating in the upcoming quarter, the Homel Spring reports.

A single man who owns a studio apartment disagrees with this turn of affairs and is seeking protection at the local branch of the Viasna HRC.

“The officials have offered me a wide range of options of exclusion from the database of “not employed in the economy” today during the meeting. The labor registry office was also advised, as well as legalizing a small business with the state support, again, handicraft was offered, they even advised the company “Svetotekhnika” for the visually impaired, when they learnt about my problem with the eyes,” Mikalai shares his impressions.

We remind, the man found out that his personal data had been included in the lists of the able-bodied citizens not engaged in the economy from the utility bill in April of this year. Instead of the subsidized tariff of 16.92 rubles for 1 Gcal, he was charged with a rate of 88.99 rubles for 1 Gcal. Mikalai says that he has no choice but to apply to the commission for the release from payment every quarter.

Human rights activist Leanid Sudalenka commented on the current situation that has developed in the law enforcement practice of the parasite decree #3.

- Practice shows that local parasitic commission variously release and exclude non-employed citizens from their bases. For example, the same commission released the well-known Homel housewife Maryja Tarasenka for the current year; commissions in other districts even found grounds for the exclusion for an indefinite period.

He also emphasizes that applying to the commission for exemption or exclusion from the bases of the non-engaged is now the only possible option. The lawsuits of Maryja Tarasenka, with which the lawyer provides assistance, have not brought success yet - the courts do not accept the parasitic complaints.

Mikalai Piashko declares that he is a Krishnaite and, if the authorities do not hear him, the religion does not forbid him to hold a long-term hunger strike. If the officials do not listen to the voice of reason, the believing man will raise the issue of persecution by the state because of his freedom of conscience and religion.

According to the decree #3, for people who are classified by the government as not employed in the economy, the water heating service has risen in price by 5.5 times since January 1, and since October 1 the gas supply and heating will also become much more expensive.
