Belsat Director Awarded Medal Of BPR' 100th Anniversary

The award ceremony was held in the Warsaw office of the TV channel.

On June 18, BPR Rada member Aliaksei Dzikavitski awarded Belsat director Agnieszka Romaszewska-Guzy with a medal in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Belarusian People's Republic.

The awarding ceremony was held at an extended meeting of the channel's management in the Warsaw office of Belsat.

This year, the medal will be awarded to 130 people from Belarus and abroad. Yury Turanok was the first to receive the medal posthumously. It happened during the memorial evening in honor of the outstanding Polish-Belarusian historian on February 18.

The Medal in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Belarusian People's Republic is awarded by the Belarusian government in emigration "for lifetime services in the work for the achievement of the ideals of the Act of March 25, 1918, including the research and popularization of the Belarusiannessnation, acquisition and strengthening of the state independence of Belarus, struggle for freedom and democracy in Belarus.

Agnieszka Romaszewska-Guzy is the creator and director of the first and so far the only independent television for Belarusians. She is a well-known Polish journalist who has been working for many years both for the print media and television.

She is a member of the Association of Polish Journalists and since August 2013, she has been a member of the Steering Committee of the European Federation of Journalists.
