Reasons Why Belarusians Living In USA Don't Hurry Back To Their Homeland

Belarusian emigrants have given several reasons.

A lot of our compatriots have decided to move to the USA. High standards of living, wages, the air of freedom - all this inspires Belarusians to move across the ocean. Having earned and saved some money, the emigrants face the question of whether to return home or stay in the United States.

The Charter97.org website got answers to this question in one of the thematic groups on Facebook:

"I was not morally prepared that my country did not need me. To study for a chemical engineer and go to work for 300 a month? No, thank you. And the army is compulsory, too. Why do I need all this?"

"Recently, the video has been shown about Belarus. It's about how great everything is there, at first sight. But still, the conclusion was that the economy is in a state of stagnation. And the young people are leaving the country in bulk. Only programmers and one more category who earn well and can afford a normal life stay. And the third category, for whom store is no sore.

By the way, I often hear negative things about Belarus from those who live in this country and positive things about Belarus from those who live here! It's understandable, it's all about tourists. There is a beautiful shell, and inside...

By the way, the husband of my acquaintance (let's call him Hena) won a green card. He came here, stayed! He formed his opinion.

This Hena decided to come back. Came to Belarus, started the Business in Belarus, lost his green card, of course! He worked, understood what kind of swamp he was in and decided that it was not that bad in these States. The people who started the business, dealt with the papers, eternal delays and so on, they understand what I'm talking about... And how can Hena return now? Can you imagine, he won the green card for the second time... He'll be back here soon!"

"Because Lukashenka is there, and with him, you shouldn't even think about any freedom of speech... I can't live as a slave, as well as keep silent."

"I was staying with my mother. At night she got sick and the paramedics said that she had to go to the hospital, but that I had to carry her down myself (my mother weighs 80 kg). I had to wake up my neighbors at 1 a.m. and take my mother down on the blanket. The doctor and the nurse were playing the phone at that time."

"The only problem in Belarus is power. Take these bastards away and give people freedom - there will be quite a decent country. I do not understand the stupid arguments from the participants of the group: the wrong people, the wrong mentality of the Belarusians," - the Belarusians in the United States shared their opinion.
