Mikalai Dziadok Taken Off Bus By Belarusian Border Guards

Mikalai Dziadok Taken Off Bus By Belarusian Border Guards
MIKALAI DZIADOK

The activist has been searched at the border again.

In the morning of June 22, when anarchist Mikalai Dziadok was returning to Belarus, the Belarusian border guards took him off the bus. He was taken to the customs inspection, where all his personal belongings, including books and brochures, were searched, the website of HRC Viasna reports.

The reason for the inspection was allegedly a "random check". After the inspection, Mikalai Dziadok took another bus.

We remind that two weeks earlier, Mikalai Dziadok had been taken off the bus by border guards when he was travelling to Vilnius. The reason for the "special check", stated by the Belarusian border guard, was the suspicion that his documents allegedly had "signs of forgery."

"Everything suggests that there are some special lists for "checking" the entry and exit. They include all socially active citizens, from anarchists to human rights activists. However, the presence in the list does not mean that a person will be checked every time.

It seems that the lists are "activated" before certain key incidents, such as elections, European games, etc. But it is also possible that they may do skin-searches regardless of such events, "randomly". In other words, it is not clear to the end when a person from the list is going to be checked and when not," - the activist noted then.

Mikalai Dziadok believes that taking a person off the bus is another type of psychological pressure ordered by the State Committee for Organized Crime and Corruption.
