This has been stated by the Ukrainian ambassador to Belarus.

Recently, many people have tried to conceal Russia's influence on the bilateral relations between Belarus and Ukraine.

Ambassador of Ukraine Igor Kizim expressed this opinion at an enlarged meeting of the Expert and Analytical Club on the topic "Belarus and Ukraine: Prospects for the Development of Relations after the Ukrainian Elections" in Minsk on June 5, tut.by reports with reference to BelaPAN.

"Today, it is increasingly said that one should contact with Russia, resuming the dialogue, – Kizim said. – Condemning the situation, everyone talks about what is happening, but does not mention the source of the conflict. And this source is the Russian Federation. For some reason, they do not remember, they do not say who has problems in the region and with whom."

Kizim stressed that Russia's factor also affects the relations between Belarus and Ukraine. "And, speaking about the relations between Ukraine and Belarus, we should not ignore the fact that they are under the influence of our common neighbor," – the diplomat said.

According to him, the statements of the new President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, give grounds to believe that the country will continue the course of integration with the EU and NATO membership. "This vector of development remains in our country, while Belarus is going in a slightly different direction. There is the Eurasian Economic Union and the CSTO. And these are slightly different directions of the movement in the economic sphere, as well as in the field of security, – Kizim said. – And all these factors should be taken into account when we analyze the further development of the Belarusian-Ukrainian relations."
