Activist Forced Authorities To Change Road Sign "Police" In Russian Into One In Belarusian

Ihar Sluchak has cut Baranavichy authorities down to size.

The road signs are to look like the ones provided by STB certificates and traffic regulations. In particular, it is to be written "Police" in Belarusian on the sign 6.12.1, nn.by reports.

Ihar Sluchak, a lawyer and a well-known activist from Homel, noticed a sign with an inscription "Police" in Russian in Lenin Street in Baranavichy. He wrote an appeal to the local city executive committee.

Until 16 July, the sign will be removed. In his place there will be a sign in Belarusian, the local authorities have reported.
