He has spent 50 months in a pre-trial detention facility.

State Prosecutor Yury Sharsneu stated in the Pershamaiski District Court of Minsk that Andrei Halavach's guilt in receiving bribes had been proven in full. The defendant did not admit guilt.

According to the investigation, he received $192,200, €35,000 as a bribe and "intended to get another $240,000," but did not have time because he was detained.

According to prosecutor Yury Sharsneu, the guilt of the MZKT chief engineer was proved in full. The prosecutor notes: the testimony of one of the bribe givers (he was not questioned in court and sent his words to the IC. - commentary) are coherent with the documents seized at the plant, tut.by reports.

According to the investigation, Halavach received several bribes in Moscow, they were handed over in a cafe, in the car. There are no video or audio recordings, only the businessmen who claim to have paid bribes, which they allegedly gave 10-12 years ago. None of the bribe-givers showed up at the trial, although they were summoned to the trial several times. As it was said during the trial, one of the witnesses is in Canada, the rest are in Russia.

As the prosecutor says, Andrei Halavach lobbied for the interests of certain companies.

After Andrei Halavach's arrest, they found $20,000 "with a Moscow bank wrapper" in his apartment. According to the defendant, an unknown man came to him shortly before his arrest and said he was paying off his debt to Halavach's father. The investigation has another version - it's part of the bribe, which the chief engineer received.

The prosecutor asked the court to find Andrei Halavach guilty and sentence him to 9 years in prison and a fine of one thousand basic units. Halavach was sentenced to 8 years in the first case of bribery, but later he was acquitted by three courts.
