Will Retirement Age For Women Be Raised To 65 Years In Belarus?

When the authorities need money, they won't stop at anything.

Leader of the REP trade union Hennadz Fiadynich has commented on the possible increase of the retirement age in Belarus:

- There are hotheads who want to equalize the retirement age of men and women. In my opinion, it's stupid to raise the retirement age for Belarusian women. Better working conditions have been created for women abroad, they earn more, have good pensions, but what does it have to do with the Belarusian women?

I am categorically against it. First, we need to raise the standard of living, and then think about raising the retirement age. I am against the idea of raising the economy at the expense of people (and even more so, at the expense of women).

The nature of the Belarusian power is such that when it needs money, it will not stop at anything.
