Belarusian Economy Minister Accuses "Dirty" Oil Of Decreasing Country's GDP

The Ministry's forecasts are far from the reality.

The GDP of Belarus grew less than expected in the first half of 2019: according to the forecast, the growth was supposed to reach 1.8%, while in reality it amounted to 0.9%.

Minister of Economy Dzmitry Krutoi told about the causes of this on the air of the program "Main Air," tut.by reports.

The Minister named the industries that have become outsiders: the Ministry of Industry and the Belnautakhim concern. According to Krutoi, the economic results were significantly affected by external factors.

"There is an objective factor - the factor of dirty oil, that's April-May. We had to produce our own oil and partially refine it to our refineries, we had to operate under certain supply restrictions. If we look at the export statistics, it is minus $800 million for Belnautakhim last year. Of course, it was very difficult to cover such volumes at the expense of other sectors".
