Belarusian Diplomat Seriously Wounded In Turkey

In Ankara, advisor to the Belarusian Embassy in Turkey on administrative issues Aliaksandr Pahansheu was seriously wounded, Hurriyet reports.

According to the publication, he was taken to the hospital with a bullet wound.

The information is confirmed by the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.

"An employee of the embassy and his child were on their way home when a mentally unstable former soldier shot a diplomat several times," Foreign Ministry spokesman Anatol Hlaz says.

The diplomat is in serious condition.

The man, who committed the attack, shot himself.
