Belarusian Traffic Police Fine 200 Thousand Drivers Who Ignored the MOT Test

The campaign will continue for another five days.

In Belarus, 200.000 drivers were captured without the MOT test. These are the interim results of the intensified inspection of cars. The campaign was launched by the traffic police 5 days ago, Radio Svaboda informs citing BT TV channel.

Car owners have been increasingly ignored the MOT test and the Ministry of Internal Affairs has decided to hold a decade of control over the availability of permission to participate in road traffic.

According to Beltech inspection, the number of issued transport permits has decreased by 8% for 7 months this year. According to experts, the introduction of the so-called road tax has largely affected the situation. The size of it is about Br200. Many drivers consider it overestimated and refuse to pay.

The campaign of the road police will last until August 17.
